School to School Program
Connecting Classrooms. Changing Futures.
The School-to-School Program unites Australian classrooms with Cheti Schools in Tanzania through fundraising, storytelling and cultural learning.
It’s a partnership where students not only support global education, they become part of it.
What is the School to School Program?
The School-to-School Program is a year-long initiative that connects Australian schools with students and teachers in the Cheti school network across Arusha.

Australian schools raise funds from February to August to support our Safe Water In Schools project, which provides access to safe water through the installation and maintenance of drinking water systems at the Cheti Schools. Along side fundraising, students will be participating in global citizenship learning that inspires empathy, leadership, and a sense of global community.

The program is designed to be meaningful, educational and engaging for students of all ages. We want to inspire young people to be actively involved in working towards making the world a safer and batter place for all.

Why It Matters
Children learn best when they understand the world beyond their own walls. This program teaches students:
-
Empathy in action
-
The realities of global inequality
-
The importance of community-led change
-
How young people can be part of real solutions
-
Cultural understanding and global connection

For the Cheti students, this partnership brings essential resources, learning support, and improved school environments. For Australian students, it brings perspective, connection and purpose.
A Transformational Highlight: The 2026 Student & Teacher Visit
In late 2026, we will bring two students and one teacher from Tanzania to Australia for a two-week visit.
They will:
-
Visit participating Australian schools
-
Meet students, teachers, and families
-
Share their stories and cultural experiences
-
Learn from Australian classrooms
-
Participate in joint activities, assemblies, and discussions

This exchange builds a powerful bridge between communities, creating memories and understanding that last far beyond the program year.

The visit will conclude with a community Inuka Gala, celebrating connection, culture and impact.
